Get Ready

The world is changing. It is just as the scriptures said would happen. History is proving what God said would come to past ages ago, proving that He alone is God-revealing the end from the beginning. This alone should make us stop and take note and desire to draw closer to God, so that we may do what is pleasing in his sight and navigate the world and the times we find ourselves in.
But, as for the end of the times, that final day, he has kept the date and time to himself. Because it was never intended for man to know it precisely. God's desire was that we, through the demonstration of faith, would trust Him and do the work he gives each of us to do in our generation.
So then, it is for us to seek out and pursue our specific work that He gives us in our lifetime. This is done by drawing closer to God through daily reading and study of the holy scriptures coupled with constant prayer. Next you must self-examine and honestly ask yourself-  what are my talents? And from all the models of saints I've seen in the scriptures, what most inspires me? How can my gifts and inspiration be applied at this time in my generation? You may be drawn towards healing or teaching the word of God, or you enjoy the disciple life of a soldier from your reading, pray and self-reflection. Thus, perhaps with pray you may want to pursue a path in medicine or integrative medicine- which is more aligned with the Biblical approach to healing that incorporates mind, body, and spirit with the use of whole foods, herbs, prayer, and changes in how one lives. Or you may consider the life of a minister in the awaking of the Israel of God, where you are responsible for the edifying, guiding and care for God's people. This work in the ministry takes the discipline of a soldier on your part to be able to preform it  and endure the difficulties you will face in caring for the souls and minds of flock of God.  But through self-examination, reading, and sincere prayer God will guide you to your unique path and calling.
Once your calling or work is discovered, the time of preparation will commence. Preparation is what makes us fit for the work God gives each of us to do. We must study, read deeply, gather the resources and instructors we may need to gain a deeper understanding of this calling. Also, preparation increase our confidence in executing the work with knowledge and skill. As part of our readying ourselves for our work, we must never forget to put God before all things by constantly reading his word, prayer, and hearing the word with fellow believers. This will help you stay connected with the spiritual purpose of your calling. God will give you fresh insight as you read and immerse yourself in things spiritual progressing you along on your journey.
I realize, especially for those seeking to be ministers, that we may want to bypass the preparation stages and get right into the work. But in order to do your work well and be a model of excellence, or perfection as the Bible calls it,  the preparation stage is crucial. If we forgo it, we will be like many who only say but never do themselves. Like a doctor who counsels his patient not to smoke but yet he is a chain smoker or a preacher condemning sin, yet he is the biggest sinner away from the pulpit. These don't understand their office, nor the duty of effectively executing it. Also, neither to do they understand that their work was given them by God; to the intent that they may labor with God to do good. And this requires that they first must do what is right in order to lead by example. So then, if we are to face these changing times and meet the demands of our generation we must find our calling and prepare ourselves for the work God gives each of us to impact our times as lights in a dark place.

Champion

Some seek trophies
while others seek life eternal
Some seek glory in the eyes of the beholders
while others seek that praise
that speaks out of clouds
Some seek riches
while others deposit in that economically stable bank
Some seek crowns that rust
while others strive to receive the crown of life
Some are also-ran
while some are champions
Some are mere mortals
while others are immortals
Some build empires only to crumble
but Saints build souls that live forever- that city of God
