"All this evil is come upon me because I have rebelled,"
I thought within myself, as I sat on the side of the road.
"Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft (1 Sam.15:23),"
when a man decides to walk in his own path- the will of his own wicked heart,
He enters a path of unpaved roads, full of rocks, pits, serpents, and wild ravenous beast.
But he, being a rebel and bent on following his own path doesn't see it or doesn't acknowledge
how hard he has just made his life's journey.
Now darkness closes in, the wild beast waits in hiding, and the slick stones of stumbling are before him.
Tragedy awaits- horrors more creative and more devastating that any Greek tragedy.
Loneliness and much heartache awaits him. He is blind and knows not where he's from or where he is going now. He cries out, " someone please help me find my way home!" But no man offers to guide him to safety- a lesson he must learn. No sympathy from the nations of men.
So, he gropes, as the blind gropes at noon day (Deut.28:29). And the lions wait for their prey.
"O, who will pity such a sorry soul?"
