We struggle between opposites; between the forces of good and the forces evil. It is a part of being borned into the physical world, where the natural and the spiritual interact with each others. And this struggle will determine our times in the natural and our judgement in the spiritual when we return to it.
If we've been blessed with a heart that gravitates toward the good, we many come to the actualization of a holy life while we live on earth and hope for an even more godly state in the next world that is coming. Thus, to desire to follow what is true, pure, and holy is the beginning of excersing the mind towards the Devine.
Everything starts with a desire, you have to want something first to act upon it or pursue it. A soul with a good heart then, would pursue the things of God unto God himself. It is inate in man to seek out the higher power that he originated from. It's like the natural love and desire for one's parents or origin. We yern to draw closer to the source of all things including ourselves. We seek to understand it and to be in harmony with it. To do this we must seek it out.
Our journey may start by the simple act of hearing the word of a preacher of the word of faith or talking with a friend or a close family member that is also more in tuned with the Devine. It may start by them saying, have you ever wondered how we got here; these times and where we are headed. Questions that triggers something on the inside of you, that leads you on the start of your journey home to the Creator. And, to help you find your way home, He, the Universal God, Creator, has provided you and I with a holy book as our guide to faith in Him and a path to find our way home to him again: the holy Bible.
The struggle then is the Choice we make; do we accept Him and His holy book to put our hope in Him and do what is written in the book: do we obey and follow Him or do we choose the opposite?
The opposite of good is evil. And the opposite of God is Satan, that old and ancient evil spirit that only desires to fulfill its lust and pleasures, even if it kills it's host(your mind and body). Satan's desire is to have you so immersed in pleasing yourself that you never consider finding your way back to God. Under his witchcraft, your mind is consumed with finding pleasures in the carnal or natural world first and only first. Thus, money, possession, fame, glory, power and dominance, and the pursute of pleasures will eventually sum up the life you were given by God. To do what is upright, true, and holy is far from your thoughts. But, in order for this evil spirit to take control of a mind or soul, one must choose to let it in. You must choose to submit to the evil; to follow it to wherever it desire to take you till it brings you and all those like you to death. It will entice you with the above things you find in the natural. It will try to convince you that this is living, that we were created to be our own gods and to use up all that we can while we live; because after this life we have no more pleasures or enjoyments to revel in. So, eat, dance, and play because tomorrow we all die. This has been Satan's mantra from the garden of Eden.
The strange thing about the evil path, however, is that when you are on that journey the pain of death to the soul and body never truly takes hold of you. You are so engrossed in your addiction to the evil or sin that you feel as if you will enjoy this moment forever. And if the sensation ends then you are encouraged by the evil go after the thing that gave you the sensation initially. This is the cycle of being an addict to evil and sin. It keeps repeating itself till the host dies, then it goes and finds another gullible soul that will eventually choose it over God and His laws.
As the ancient Hebrew prophets have said, "this, then, is the true battle of every man that comes through the matrix."
